We are pleased to say, that although not fully up and running, we have system in place to ensure everyone’s safety, and welcoming back many groups and activities.
South Bank Studios is also open, with artists in residence and we have begun to offer workshops. Many artists are also offering online workshops, so do check out the South Bank Studios website for details and links to our own artists pages.
Our Sunday 10:30am worship remains on Zoom, partly because of the practicality, and increased safety of doing so, but also because it allows us to offer a different style of worship, where we walk through the bible together interatively. We are joined in this by Acomb & Holgate Methodist church and many friends from around the UK.
Sunday 29th November, we are also hosting our annual memorial service at 4:00pm, where we remember those we have lost, and reflect on the losses of this last year.
We also make available a set of video reflections each week, on YouTube and Facebook, which you can watch at your convenience (scroll down for more info). We do, however, also meet physically each Wednesday at 2:30pm for a simple prayer service (when lockdowns allow), which is a smaller gathering.
To join in our Virtual Worship, do join us for ‘Zoom on Sunday’ (Virtual worship) – click on the image above for more information, or use the details below to join us online.

For those who missed last week’s shared time, the following is our minister, Andy’s reflection on John Bailey’s sharing with us of Mark 1:1-8 Making a Way in the Wilderness (you’ll find more Sunday’s on our You Tube channel or Facebook page). We also broke out for some family worship this week, and are continuing to offer this every two weeks.
Keith Albans was leading the circuit service this Sunday, with preaching from our chair Rev Leslie Newton. The circuit service is also available each week, at the same time as our Zoom, so if you would like to watch it live, or afterwards, then click subscribe and you will be sent a link each week. Feel free to join us, after our Zoom, for coffee. If you’d like to watch both, I will try and post them on this email each week.
Alternatively, if you’d like to worship with a contemporary service, then please find a link to our sister church, at Copmanthorpe.
Finally, our new family worship time ‘ONE Family’ met once again in November. If you missed it, and would like to engage, watch the enclosed video, and hopefully join us for next month!

They take different forms,…

@ The York Circuit family and youth team are excited to introduce One Family! It is a venture where families from across the York Methodist Circuit can come together on-line, with families from the Goole and Selby Circuit to worship, learn more about Jesus and enjoy spending time together as one big family. It will be a relaxed, informal style of church for families with primary school aged children, although of course younger and older children are very welcome too. …
Launched on the 10th of January 2019 - the newest affordable, inclusive cafe, opening for all of us, to help reduce food waste and put edible food on your plate ! Also loads of fresh produce will be available on a weekly basis. The cafe uses food donated from local stores and businesses, that would otherwise be discarded, and it is used to create a 'Pay-as-you-can' lunch (actually we have choices of Brunch, and then from Midday, a choice of…
Divine Focus, is a time of worship where we use photographers, taken by our gathered group, as a way of unpacking scripture, and relecting on God. Each Month has a theme, and each person is encouraged to submit six photos prior to the meeting (which at present takes place on Zoom - details of the meeting published a week or so before each month). We view these together, and tell the story, or share the reflection and how it links…

Our vision for the church is that all our activities are underpinned by a rhythm of prayer and worship. A small group meet weekly, in Room 1 to pray for one another, our church, our community and the wider world. This informal time of prayer is open to all who are interested and lasts around 30 minutes. The service is followed by light refreshments. There is no need to book, simply turn up, and we'll show you the ropes!
